Member Spotlight – February 2017
What do you do for a living? Or for those in transition, what would you like to do? I am the Tour & Charter Manager at Discovery Coach. Which means I have the fun opportunity to plan motor coach tours throughout the United States, as well as chartering out our fleet of 12 motor coaches.
Why are you a member of WWW?
I love the aspect of meeting with women in a positive environment where we support and encourage one another in a fun filled atmosphere.
Please share a WINE moment (something you found cause for celebration, personal or professional)
In my professional career, I am proud to say I have secured a major charter customer for the past three years and we are their exclusive charter company. We have a great working relationship and they have told us on numerous occasions that our customer service is what sets us apart in this competitive business. As for my personal life, I am spreading my wings and learning to fly in my independence and finding my way in life (and loving it!)
What is a recent book you read?
Unfortunately I don’t have as much time to read as I would like, however, I do listen to books on CD during my daily commute. Right now I am listening to The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom – he has a way with words that truly get to the heart of the matter.
What is the best advice you ever received?
To always be true to yourself. A hard lesson to learn, but one that is so important.
What would we be surprised to know?
My goal for 2017 was to bring more adventure into my life. I started off with the Polar Plunge in Lake Michigan on January 1st. Up next – zip lining in Arizona at the end of March (with my daughter!)
Please share a WHISKEY moment, perhaps the biggest lesson I have learned in life is…
I’ve learned that life is constantly changing and each change we go through brings up to the place we are meant to be. That having a positive attitude is truly one of the best things you can bring to this life and that in the end, it will all be okay.
My favorite thing to do is ….
I love spending time with my daughter and getting to know and appreciate the beautiful young woman she is becoming. I try my best to guide her, yet let her be who she is and to empower her that “she is enough”. We love to hang out and be silly and have discovered that our just mom and daughter time is precious. We have taken up running together and are training for our first 5K this summer.
